Am I too old to learn to play an instrument?

Absolutely not! As long as you have the desire to learn it is never too late to start playing the instrument of your dreams.

What is the easiest instrument to learn for a beginner?

There is not one specific instrument that comes easy to everyone. Every instrument has its own unique challenges.  You may have heard that it is better to start on the piano or the guitar but that is not always the case. It has been our experience that a person's ability and desire to learn to play an instrument comes from having a connection with the instrument of your choice. The important thing is to find something that you enjoy and keep practicing!

Do I need to have my own instrument to take lessons?

You've probably heard the saying "practice makes perfect". While progress can be made from regularly attending lessons it definitely  helps to have your own instrument at home to practice with. If purchasing your instrument is not an immediate possibility you might want to consider a rent to own option.

How long does it take to learn an instrument?

The length of time it takes to learn an instrument depends on the person learning.  Everyone has their own learning curve, and what might come easily to one person may take a bit longer for others. The important thing is to not give up. With a little patience and dedication you can learn to play any instrument.

Do your teachers have any experience outside of teaching?

Yes! All of the instructors that teach at our store are professional musicians who have performed in various venues as well as with local bands, orchestras and well-known artists! Check out our Lessons page for more information about each instructor and how they can help you achieve your musical goals!

How do I schedule a lesson?

When you're ready to sign up for lessons simply give us a call at (916) 456-8742. Let us know which instrument you're interested in playing, your availability, and if there is a teacher with whom you'd prefer studying. We'll find a lesson spot that works for your schedule.

Do you offer group lessons?

We offer thirty minute private, one-on-one, lessons here in the store. Please visit our Lessons page for more information regarding lessons and our teachers.

Do you repair instruments?

Yes! We have two certified technicians, Tom Hannickel and Arnie Gamble who can help with anything—from tuning, to repairing your instrument to perfect playing condition. Please visit our Repairs page for more information.

Can I try an instrument before I buy it?

All instruments are available for demonstration with the exception of harmonicas and native flutes, due to hygienic reasons; however, these instruments can still be heard prior to purchase with the assistance of the sales staff.
